It's not easy being a green bean

Tonight we are taking our inspiration from someone in the US state of Georgia who pointed us in the direction of a green bean recipe.
I have also seen this called Southern Beans. This is one version called plantation beans.
Green beans, along with peas sit high on Freddie's irrational list of most loathed vegetables. Something about their uncompromising greenness repels him. Quite how the green bean entered his psyche as a monster I will never know. But I am pairing them with one of his favourite tastes - bacon. Not sure what will happen...

You could be here some time!!! There are soooooooo many different types of beans. One that my family likes is green beans in a tomatoe sauce with a crunchy cheesy topping. I also do the same with courgettes.

Steam some green beans (:o) until they are no longer squeaky) and cut them up into inch long pieces. Fry some onion and garlic until soft, add the beans, a tin of chopped tomatoes, a smidgen of sugar and whatever else you like to put in your tomato sauce. Transfer to a dish and top with breadcrumbs and cheese and pop under the grill until crisp and golden.

    Honey :-x

Honey - thank you for this recipe.
Tonights plantation beans were not a major hit. Tolerated - but only just.
So we will try your version..
Please keep giving us your ideas as things that work for other parents are a good recommendation.
