From Courgettes to Carrots. The GreatBigVegChallenge turns orange. But in order to do this with verve, Freddie and I require the appropriate inspiration from all of you out there...From Brazil to the Yukon we know you all love carrots. Share your affection!
And I am certain its no coincidence that as I write, the moon is turning an orange red. Its the night of the lunar eclipse. So clearly the solar system supports our GBVC.
Do you ever make simple glazed carrot? Cut a couple of carrots up into a bite size dice. Put in a skillet with water to scarcely cover, a nice pat of butter and a couple spoons of sugar. Bring to a boil and simmer until the water has evaporated and the carrots are left with a shiny glaze. My 6 year old newphew loves these but the 7 year old prefers peas. I will ask them to check your blog out.
ReplyDeleteI will try this - the carrot is of course more exposed to Freddie's wary gaze but it might be the bold step we need!

I also like glazed carrots. After boiling them, bake them in the oven with a little brown sugar, butter, and ginger. Yum!
ReplyDeleteWhat about trying something with carrot juice? Carrot-orange is a good combination. Maybe freeze it to make a sorbet?
